Above: The Anagramme Modular Sofa, designed by Hans Hopfer, comes with high and low arm options and is upholstered in Kenzo maison fabrics - emphasizing how the fashion and interiors worlds are merging. It comes with completely removable slipcovers and are range of different units. By the way, greys and mauves are strong colours this season.
Last Thursday, I was invited up to a press event in the Roche Bobois showroom in the Beacon South Quarter, Sandyford, Dublin 18. As a freelancer, working day in and day out in your home office can be very isolating so I jumped on the chance to take the drive up to Dublin and meet some fellow writers and editors. In fact, I even picked up Caroline Allen, a writer for Munster Interiors, in Portlaoise along the way which was great for the companionship and a chance to compare notes and bounce ideas off each other.

The Atome Swivel chair is covered in a fluid jersey fabric.
The showroom, the only one is Ireland, is located in a corner space on two levels which benefits greatly from the light coming in from the huge windows.
This Ultramobile modular sofa, from the new collection, is covered in a great creamy leather. The back pops up for reading and the seat slides out for relaxing. The Tarmac coffee tables (below) come in 8 different colour variations.

Also new this season is the Avant-propos modular sofa designed by Sacha Lakic with Emanuel Ungaro fabrics covering the body and all the cushions. The Classico rug is also from Emanuel Ungaro.

The Nuage armchair is also covered in a sleek jersey fabric.

The Mah-Jong modular sofa is a classic piece for the company also designed by Hans Hopfer and covered in Missoni Home fabrics. You know how much I love colour, so this really appealed to me! Floor cushions can be stacked for extra height and extra ease get out of but wouldn't you just love a big open sitting room with this as the feature. It would be ideal for evening entertaining and kids would have a hey-day on this!

Another fabulous rug...I'm on a rug thing right now!!

This is the Formentera curved modular sofa with a rug and cushions from Missoni Home. I loved the black shelves at each end for sitting drinks or displaying vases. What a statement this would make in a contemporary sitting room.

More Kenzo fabrics on the cushions and another great rug!

Upstairs in the showroom is equally light filled and spacious with loads of great accessories to finish up your contemporary look.

Look at this pink chrome!
There is nothing like experiencing top of the line contemporary furniture and you can be sure to find that at Roche Bobois. It is beautifully designed with a range of options that will suit any modern home. I'm coveting both the Anagramme and Mah-Jong modular sofas (may need a bigger house) but those colours are right up my alley and all of the rugs! They also have a traditional range as well but I didn't cover it today.
