Tipperary Focus: Check out Twenty-Six "An Eclectic Mix" in Nenagh

When Twenty-Six opened in Nenagh just over a year ago, it felt like someone had walked into my head and rooted out the details of my own dreams of opening a shop - it is almost exactly the type of shop I would have envisioned for myself so as you can imagine, I was pretty delighted when it opened up. Owner Margaret Cirscadden has combined a wonderful mix of Irish, European and American products to create this treasure trove of a destination in Nenagh.

Located at 26 Kenyon Street, Twenty-Six always has the most appealing windows- which are an especially nice treat if you are out for an after hours walk.

Floorboards have been painted white (just like my stairs and landing in my own house) and it has a great open plan with lots of painted furniture. In the far back there are some antique and vintage pieces mixed in which is appropriate as I feel any home will have a mix of old and new.
At the front near the check out desk is a little oasis of creativity and colour for children.

I'm smitten with this vintage inspired collection of china -- the birds are just delighteful and I love the mix of stripes and florals. My neighbour Niamh gave me some of these pieces for Secret Santa this past Christmas- she knows me so well!
There are clothes and cards and jewelery- something for everyone in a range of prices.

Words to live by dont' you think? You just never know!

Margaret also sells this great line of paint from Annie Sloan and told me that her window will soon be filled with painted pieces- so I'll be sure to post an updated window shot. Annie is also coming to Nenagh for a workshop- I'll get details and let you know! I think painting furniture is a brilliant way to "Up-Cycle" " Recycle" - what ever phrase you'd like to use-giving a piece a new lease on life. It is certainly recession friendly!

At the back of the store is this lovely display - I am completely smitten with this darling deer - who is not vintage but looks it- he'd look great nestled in my garden. Check, add to wish list.

Twenty-Six is on Facebook. Or do stop by your next time through Nenagh - they are at 26 Kenyon Street : 067-32805.

  2. Hi Lisa !
I just discovered your beautiful blog through Annie Sloan Paint on Facebook.
This store is beautiful, it's a real eye candy and there's lots of exquisite objects to look at. I love these kind of stores. You can be sure I'd visit if I lived in your hometown but I live in Quebec, Canada, a little too far... !
    Have a nice day !
