My garden has brought me tremendous joy this year as the roses are really established and there is consistent colour week in and week out. The spring started off with magnificent alliums and then my foxgloves and lupines- the roses are now coming out in stages and always are gone far too soon.

But I just wanted to share with you a series of images I took of a bouquet I put together from my garden with pink roses, pale yellow roses from a climber, purple nepeta- or catnip and the vivid green of the leaves and blooms from Lady's Mantle or Alchelmilla vulgaris. It's such a simple easy arrangement.

I've been making these over the last few weeks and then putting them on my bedside table. The smell from the roses is divine.

Do you have a favourite combinations of flowers? Is it colour combinations that are important or is it scents?
These were photographed in my kitchen with my blue and white toile as a backdrop (which I know you've all seen to many times but it does make ideal images!)
