Nenaghgal - Visit Nenagh Classic Cycle Event on 22 April

Happy Easter everyone - I've been up early with an excited little girl wanting to see what the Easter bunny left her so now seemed like a good time to get this post up.
I can tell you - there are so many things going on in Nenagh these days, seems like my blog becoming a vehicle for just promoting Nenagh events these days. Of course, this is all good news and it just goes to show that the people and community of Nenagh are doing their best to help promote the town and area.
Two weeks from today - on Sunday, 22 April - Nenagh will be hosting the Visit Nenagh Classic International Cycle Road Race. It's all quite exciting as not only will they be hosting a proper international cycle race but in addition there are loads of activities built in for families.

Serious cyclists will be able to challenge themselves to a classic road race.

And while I have not embarked along many of the local routes myself yet on a bike, I know from travelling them by car - the views and local scenery is spectacular.

Mayor of Nenagh, Virginia O'Dowd, pictured far right, has also recently launched a Paint A Bike competition to get everyone involved and add to the festivity of the day.  And families can enjoy a family bike ride for 7km at 1:00pm on the day as well while the professionals set off on a 104km ride!
There are loads of activities planned for the day including a whole market area in Quintin's Way where members of the Tipperary Food Producers will have stalls along with local restaurants and businesses
A full list of activities and the programme schedule is up on their website - Visit Nenagh.
This event would not be possible without the generous support of sponsors and every penny counts. On their home page you too can donate even a small amount to keep this thing running smoothly and make it a success for Nenagh and the surrounding area. For a €10 donation - you'll receive a certificate so even if you live abroad you can show your support locally.
And of course, if you are a local business - you can become a partner - more details on the website where you can contact the committee directly. Every little bit helps so think about a creative way you can get your business involved.
By the way, all these activities are free including the family bike so this is a great day out to show your support for the racers and have a good day out with the family. I will be taking part in the 7km with my daughter and husband that day so hope to see you out there too. Spread the word too - I'll be on Twitter @Nenaghal and Facebook /Nenaghgal additionally spreading the word. The more of you that talk about it the better not only for the event but for the town!
Enjoy your long weekend and have a lovely day today with family and friends.
